A Creative Quest: Envisioning Gigil's World of Wonder
In late 2021, Lenslight Media embarked on an exciting journey to create a commercial for Gigil, a company specializing in STEM kits for children aged 4-11. The core objective was to develop an ad that not only appeals to the curiosity of children but also resonates with parents seeking to enhance their child's learning through hands-on experiences. Inspired by a GE advertisement, we aimed to bring a similar narrative to life for Gigil, emphasizing the wonder and excitement of exploration and discovery.
The Talent
Central to our commercial was Finley, a remarkably talented 7-year-old, who brought an infectious enthusiasm and natural acting ability to the set. Her involvement went beyond acting; Finley played a key role in designing a 'rig' – a pivotal prop in the commercial. Her creative input, including drawings and mock-ups in her notebook, served as the primary inspiration for the trash contraption featured in the ad.
The production process was a collaborative effort with the Gigil team. We focused on capturing the essence of childhood curiosity, emphasizing the joy and wonder inherent in Gigil’s STEM kits. The narrative was crafted to engage both the young audience and their parents, showcasing the educational yet fun nature of the products.
